Figures released by the company recently show that with the addition of recent retail sales, Paint Shop Pro now reaches more than 12 million users around the world.

Recently published information by PC Data shows that for the first three months of 2007, Paint Shop Pro led retail unit sales by more than 40 percent in the prosumer market -- a mid-market of business users, advanced consumers and professional designers looking for powerful, yet easy-to-use advanced imaging solutions, as well as fast and flexible editing tools. Paint Shop Pro's success began with a strong base of Internet users who learned about Jasc's high-performance, easy-to-use and affordable image-editing software through grass-roots marketing efforts and shareware distribution.

As the customer base developed and the needs of Internet users grew, Jasc expanded Paint Shop Pro's sales into retail outlets such as Best Buy, and into catalog marketers such as Tiger Direct to make the product readily available to a wider audience. “Paint Shop Pro 5 is the best graphical manipulation tool I have ever used,” said Doug Oldfield, software engineer at consumer game producer Sierra On-Line Inc., where more than 50 individuals use Paint Shop Pro 5.

Since the release of Paint Shop Pro 5 in February, more than 3.5 million copies have been downloaded from the Internet. More than 1 million copies were downloaded in the first two weeks following release.
